Description: | Sword and sheath from Sudan. The sword has a short, double-edged blade with an inscription. The hilt is made from bone and has iron and copper alloy fittings. The sheath is formed of tooled leather and has a silver chape, with a raised design where the chape meets the leather. Around the top of the sheath is a band snake skin and a loop of brown leather.
