Description: | A probable copper alloy pastry jigger dating from the post medieval period, about AD 1600 - 1800. Only the forked attachment part of the handle survive, with the wheel missing. The handle is oval in section and is divided into sections by two collars. Each plain part is swollen in the middle. The arms are broken off and missing, but the top of the box for the wheel survives. The upper end of the handle is also an old break.Similar examples can be seen in Bailey's "Detector Finds", page 96, dated from the seventeenth or eighteenth centuries. An example with the wheel attached which can be seen on the database is Burleigh, W (2014) PUBLIC-589432 A POST MEDIEVAL CUTLERY Webpage available at: http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/641250.
