Description: | A fragment of a copper alloy Iron Age/Roman La Tène brooch dating from 400 BC to AD 100. The fragment consists of three large spring coils, one of which extends into the pin. The pin, which is circular in section and narrows to a point, is bent at an angle of c.90 degrees. The metal is smooth with a reddish-brown patina. The object measures 18.9mm in (bent) length and 19.5mm in (bent) width. The spring measures 8.2mm in length and has a diameter of 9.0mm. It weighs 2.57g.
