Description: | Base metal contemporary counterfeit of a Charles II half crown (AD1660-1685). Obverse has laureate and draped bust facing right (third bust) with the legend CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA. The reverse has been worn smooth and is illegible.The patina and apparent lamination of the object suggests a possible copper alloy base that has been tinned or silvered. Diameter: 32.56mm; weight: 9.2g
